Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 14627

Sa'id bin Wahb and Zayd bin Yuthay' narrate: Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) adjured the people by Allah at al-Rahbah, asking that whoever had heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) speak on the Day of Ghadir Khumm should stand up. The narrator says: Six men stood up on the side of Sa'id bin Wahb and seven on the side of Zayd bin Yuthay', and they bore witness that they had heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say concerning Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) on the Day of Ghadir Khumm: "Am I not closer to the believers?" The people said: "Yes." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Allah, whoever I am the mawla of, Ali is also his mawla. O Allah, befriend whoever befriends him, and be hostile to whoever is hostile to him."
Abdullah recorded it, and al-Bazzar recorded something similar, in a more complete form. He said: It is narrated from Sa'id bin Wahb and Zayd bin Yuthay', as it is mentioned here, whereas Abdullah said: from Sa'id bin Wahb, from Zayd bin Yuthay'. It appears that the "and" has dropped out, and Allah knows best. The chains of both are hasan (good).
