Majma al-Zawaid 14512 — The marriage of Uthman
وَعَنْ أُمِّ عَيَّاشٍ قَالَتْ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " مَا زَوَّجْتُ عُثْمَانَ أُمَّ كُلْثُومٍ إِلَّا بِوَحْيٍ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، وَإِسْنَادُهُ حَسَنٌ لِمَا تَقَدَّمَهُ مِنَ الشَّوَاهِدِ .

Sayyidah Umm Ayyash (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "I married Uthman to Umm Kulthum because of revelation."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its chain is hasan (good) because of the supporting reports (shawahid) that have preceded it.
