Majma al-Zawaid 14462 — The death of Umar
عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " قَالَ لِي جِبْرِيلُ - عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ - : لِيَبْكِ الْإِسْلَامُ عَلَى مَوْتِ عُمَرَ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ حَبِيبٌ كَاتِبُ مَالِكٍ ، وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكٌ كَذَّابٌ .

Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Jibril said to me: Islam will weep over the death of Umar."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Habib, the scribe of Imam Malik, who is matruk (abandoned) and a kadhdhab (liar).
