وَعَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ أَبِي حَتْمَةَ : أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ لِرَجُلٍ : " إِذَا أَنَا مِتُّ وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ فَإِنِ اسْتَطَعْتَ أَنْ تَمُوتَ فَمِتْ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ سَلْمُ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ الْخَوَّاصُ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ لِغَفْلَتِهِ .

Sayyiduna Sahl bin Abi Hathmah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to a man: "When I, Abu Bakr and Umar have died, then if you are able to die, do die."
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains a narrator, Salm bin Maymun al-Khawwas, who is da'if (weak) due to his inattentiveness.
