Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 14348

Sayyiduna al-Bara' bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Sayyiduna Abu Bakr and Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): "All praise belongs to Allah Almighty, Who has supported me through you two. Had you two not differed from each other before me, I would not have gone against (the agreed opinion of) you two."
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains a narrator, Habib bin Abi Habib, the scribe of Malik, who is matruk (abandoned).
