وَعَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ قَالَ : رَآنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَأَنَا أَمْشِي أَمَامَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ فَقَالَ : " لَا تَمْشِ أَمَامَ مَنْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِنْكَ ; إِنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ خَيْرٌ مِمَّنْ طَلَعَتْ عَلَيْهِ الشَّمْسُ أَوْ غَرَبَتْ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ بَقِيَّةٌ ، وَهُوَ مُدَلِّسٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ وُثِّقُوا .

Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw me while I was walking in front of Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), and he said: "Do not walk in front of one who is better than you. Abu Bakr is better than all those upon whom the sun rises or sets."
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Baqiyyah, and he is a mudallis; the remaining narrators of this narration have been declared trustworthy.
