Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 1423

Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to go to al-Ghabah (the forest), and the time of Maghrib would reach them at "Mirbad al-Ghanam" (the sheep pen), so they would perform dry ablution (tayammum).
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains Abd al-Muhaymin bin Abbas, who is da'if (weak).
