Sayyiduna Ya'la bin Umayyah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once we were travelling with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Meanwhile a camel came before us. When it saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), it raised its head. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Ya'la! Go to the owners of this camel and buy this camel from them. If they do not sell it to you, then say that the Messenger of Allah urges you to treat it well." Those people said: "By Allah! We have been carrying water on it for twenty years, and tomorrow we had decided to slaughter it. But now that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has urged us concerning it, we will not fall short in doing good to it."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its chain is hasan (good).
