عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ قَالَ : صُنِعَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - شَاةً مَصْلِيَّةً فَأُتِيَ بِهَا فَقَالَ : " يَا أَبَا رَافِعٍ نَاوِلْنِي الذِّرَاعَ " فَنَاوَلْتُهُ . ثُمَّ قَالَ : " يَا أَبَا رَافِعٍ نَاوِلْنِي الذِّرَاعَ " فَنَاوَلْتُهُ . ثُمَّ قَالَ : " يَا أَبَا رَافِعٍ نَاوِلْنِي الذِّرَاعَ " . فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، هَلْ لِلشَّاةِ إِلَّا ذِرَاعَانِ ؟ فَقَالَ : " لَوْ سَكَتَّ لَنَاوَلْتَنِي مِنْهَا ذِرَاعًا مَا دَعَوْتُ بِهِ " . قَالَ : وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يُعْجِبُهُ الذِّرَاعُ .
Sayyiduna Abu Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Roasted goat meat was prepared for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and it was brought to him. He said: "O Abu Rafi'! Hand me a foreleg." I handed it to him. Then he said: "O Abu Rafi'! Hand me a foreleg." I handed it to him. Then he said: "Abu Rafi', hand me a foreleg." I said: "O Messenger of Allah! A goat has only two forelegs." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If you had remained silent, you would have kept handing me a foreleg from it for as long as I kept asking for it." The narrator says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) liked the meat of the foreleg.
