Aws bin Khalid narrates: Whenever I came to Sayyiduna Abu Mahdhurah (may Allah be pleased with him), he would ask me about a certain man, and whenever I went to that man, he would ask me about Sayyiduna Abu Mahdhurah (may Allah be pleased with him). I said to Sayyiduna Abu Mahdhurah (may Allah be pleased with him): When I come to you, you ask me about so-and-so, and when I go to so-and-so, he asks me about you. Sayyiduna Abu Mahdhurah (may Allah be pleased with him) told me that once he, Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) and a certain man were in a house, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever among you dies last will go to Hell." The narrator says: First Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) passed away, then Sayyiduna Abu Mahdhurah (may Allah be pleased with him) passed away, and then that man passed away.
Al-Tabarani recorded it. No one besides Ali bin Zayd narrated from the narrator Aws bin Khalid, and both of these narrators have been criticised; the remaining narrators of this narration are the narrators of the Sahih.
