Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took me as his bride, he said: "O Umm Salamah! I had sent musk and a robe (hullah) as a gift to the Negus (al-Najashi), but I think he has died, and as for the gift I sent, I think it will come back to me." Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Then it happened just as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had said. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave one uqiyah each to his other wives, and gave me all the rest of the musk and the robe.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it. I do not know the mother of Musa bin Uqbah. One narrator is Muslim bin Khalid al-Zanji, whom Yahya bin Ma'in and others declared thiqah (trustworthy); the remaining narrators of this report are the narrators of the "Sahih". (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: The report narrated by Umm Kulthum about this incident has already passed in the chapter on giving gifts, in the Book of Sales; it is recorded from the "Musnad" of Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal and from other sources.
