وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " فُضِّلْتُ عَلَى الْأَنْبِيَاءِ بِخَصْلَتَيْنِ : كَانَ شَيْطَانِي كَافِرًا فَأَعَانَنِي اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ حَتَّى أَسْلَمَ ، وَنَسِيتُ الْخَصْلَةَ الْأُخْرَى " . رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَفِيهِ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ صِرْمَةَ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ . وَقَدْ تَقَدَّمَتْ أَحَادِيثُ هَذَا الْبَابِ فِي بَابِ عِصْمَتِهِ مِنَ الْقَرِينِ .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I have been given superiority over the other Prophets in two respects: my devil was a disbeliever, and Allah Almighty helped me against him until he submitted (became Muslim)." The narrator of the hadith says: I have forgotten the other thing.
Al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains Ibrahim bin Sirmah, who is da'if (weak). Some hadiths on this subject, that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was protected from the "qarin" (the companion devil), have already preceded.
