عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " فُضِّلْتُ عَلَى الْأَنْبِيَاءِ بِسِتٍّ لَمْ يُعْطَهُنَّ أَحَدٌ كَانَ قَبْلِي : غُفِرَ لِي مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِي وَمَا تَأَخَّرَ ، وَأُحِلَّتْ لِي الْغَنَائِمُ وَلَمْ تَحِلَّ لِأَحَدٍ كَانَ قَبْلِي ، وَجُعِلَتْ أُمَّتِي خَيْرَ الْأُمَمِ ، وَجُعِلَتْ لِيَ الْأَرْضُ مَسْجِدًا وَطَهُورًا ، وَأُعْطِيتُ الْكَوْثَرَ ، وَنُصِرْتُ بِالرُّعْبِ ، وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ إِنَّ صَاحِبَكُمْ لَصَاحِبُ لِوَاءِ الْحَمْدِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، تَحْتَهُ آدَمُ فَمَنْ دُونَهُ " . رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ وَإِسْنَادُهُ جَيِّدٌ .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "I have been given superiority over the other Prophets in six respects; these things were not given to anyone before me: my past and future sins have been forgiven; the spoils of war have been made lawful for me, and they were not lawful for anyone before me; my Ummah has been made the best of all nations; the whole earth has been made for me a place of prayer and a means of purification; I have been given al-Kawthar; and I have been helped with awe (struck into the enemy). By the One in whose hand is my soul, your master will be the bearer of the Banner of Praise (Liwa' al-Hamd) on the Day of Resurrection, under which (banner) will be Sayyiduna Adam (peace be upon him) and all those besides him."
