عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " لَا يَنْبَغِي لِأَحَدٍ أَنْ يَقُولَ : أَنَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ مَتَّى " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ أَبُو يَحْيَى الْقَتَّاتُ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ وَقَدْ وُثِّقَ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) states that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is not fitting for anyone to say: 'I am better than Sayyiduna Yunus bin Matta.'"
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains Abu Yahya al-Qattat, who is da'if (weak), though he has also been declared trustworthy.
