عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " أَوَّلُ مَنْ صُنِعَتْ لَهُ النُّورَةُ وَدَخَلَ الْحَمَّامَ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، فَلَمَّا دَخَلَهُ وَوَجَدَ حَرَّهُ وَغَمَّهُ قَالَ : أَوَّهْ مِنْ عَذَابِ اللَّهِ ، أَوَّهْ أَوَّهْ ، قَبْلَ أَنْ لَا يَنْفَعُ أَوَّهْ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ وَالْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَوْدِيُّ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
Sayyiduna Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The first person for whom nurah (that is, depilatory powder) was prepared, and the first to enter a bathhouse, was Sayyiduna Sulayman (peace be upon him). When he entered it and felt its heat and its stifling, he said: 'Ah, this is from the punishment of Allah! Ah, ah, before the time comes when Ah will be of no benefit!'"
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains Isma'il bin Abd al-Rahman al-Awdi, who is da'if (weak).
