وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِأَفْضَلِ الْمَلَائِكَةِ ؟ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ ، وَأَفْضَلُ النَّبِيِّينَ آدَمُ ، وَأَفْضَلُ الْأَيَّامِ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ ، وَأَفْضَلُ الشُّهُورِ شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ ، وَأَفْضَلُ اللَّيَالِي لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ ، وَأَفْضَلُ النِّسَاءِ مَرْيَمُ بِنْتُ عِمْرَانَ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ نَافِعُ بْنُ هُرْمُزَ وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكٌ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I not tell you of the most virtuous of the angels? It is Jibril. The most virtuous of the prophets is Sayyiduna Adam (peace be upon him). The most virtuous day is Friday, the most virtuous month is the month of Ramadan, the most virtuous night is Laylat al-Qadr, and the most virtuous of women is Maryam bint Imran."
