Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 13702

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever walks to see to a need of his Muslim brother, Allah Almighty will record for him one good deed in return for every step he takes, until he returns to the place where he parted from him. If the other person's need is fulfilled, he comes out of his sins like the day his mother gave birth to him; and if he perishes in the meantime, then what an excellent one who perishes! He will enter Paradise without any reckoning."
Abu Ya'la recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Abd al-Rahim bin Zayd al-Ammi, who is matruk (abandoned).
