وَعَنِ الْأَشْعَثِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " مَنْ لَمْ يَرْحَمِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَلَنْ يَرْحَمَهُ اللَّهُ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ مَنْ لَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ . قُلْتُ : وَتَأْتِي أَحَادِيثُ فِي التَّوْبَةِ مِنْ هَذَا الْبَابِ .
Sayyiduna al-Ash'ath bin Qays narrated: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever does not show mercy to the Muslims, Allah Almighty will not show mercy to him."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator whom I do not know. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Some hadiths on this subject will come later in the chapter on repentance.
