Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 13602

Awf narrates: When the students of Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) came to him, he asked them: "Do you sit with one another?" They replied: "We do not abandon that." Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) asked: "Do you go to visit one another?" They replied: "Yes, O Abu Abdul Rahman! Sometimes one of us misses his brother, and walks on foot to the far end of Kufah to meet him." Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "As long as you keep doing this, you will continue to be in goodness."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it, and its chain is munqati' (broken).
