وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " لَا حِلْفَ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ ، وَمَا كَانَ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ لَمْ يَزِدْهُ الْإِسْلَامُ إِلَّا شِدَّةً أَوْ حِدَّةً " . رَوَاهُ أَبُو يَعْلَى وَأَحْمَدُ بِاخْتِصَارٍ ، وَرِجَالُهُمَا رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no alliance in Islam, and whatever alliance was made in the Days of Ignorance, Islam will only increase its strength and firmness."
Imam Abu Ya'la recorded it, and Imam Ahmad recorded it in abridged form; the narrators of both are the narrators of the Sahih.
