عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيَتَّقِ اللَّهَ وَلْيُكْرِمْ جَارَهُ ، وَمَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيَتَّقِ اللَّهَ وَلِيُكْرِمْ ضَيْفَهُ وَمَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيَقُلْ حَقًّا أَوْ لِيَسْكُتْ " .
One of the Companions narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Whoever believes in Allah Almighty and the Last Day should fear Allah Almighty and honour his neighbour; and whoever believes in Allah Almighty and the Last Day should fear Allah Almighty and honour his guest; and whoever believes in Allah Almighty and the Last Day should speak the truth or else remain silent."
