Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 13511

Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) relates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I and the one who takes care of an orphan will be in Paradise like these two (fingers)." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said this while joining his index finger and middle finger (and then he further said): "The one who looks after an orphan, or a widow, or a poor person is like someone who strives in the path of Allah and who also fasts and offers voluntary prayers without any break between them."
Imam Abu Ya'la and Imam Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Layth bin Abi Sulaym, and he is a mudallis, and the remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
