Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 1344

Alqamah narrates: We brought a large bowl while we were with Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him). He gave instructions about it, and it was placed on the road. He ate from it and we ate with him, and he would invite everyone who passed by. Then we went to pray, and all he did was wash the tips of his fingers and rinse his mouth, and then he prayed. In one narration the words are: A bowl was brought to us from the house of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), containing bread and meat; after this the narrator mentioned the report as before.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this report in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and the narrators of both reports have been declared trustworthy.
