وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ : جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَقَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، مَنْ أَبِرُّ ؟ قَالَ : " أُمَّكِ " . قَالَتْ : ثُمَّ مَنْ ؟ قَالَ : " أُمَّكِ " . قَالَتْ : ثُمَّ مَنْ ؟ قَالَ : " أُمَّكِ " . قَالَتْ : ثُمَّ مَنْ ؟ قَالَ : " وَالِدَكِ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْيَمَامِيُّ ، وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكٌ .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A woman came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! To whom should I show the most kindness?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "To your mother." She asked: "Then to whom?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "To your mother." She asked: "Then to whom?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "To your mother." She asked: "Then to whom?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "To your father."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains a narrator, Sulayman bin Dawud al-Yamami, who is matruk (abandoned).
