Majma al-Zawaid 13377 — The wonders of creation
وَعَنْهُ قَالَ : لَيْسَ مِنْ خَلْقِ اللَّهِ أَكْثَرُ مِنَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ ، يَخْلُقُهُمْ مِثْلَ الذُّبَابِ ، ثُمَّ يَقُولُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى : كُونُوا أَلْفًا أَلْفَيْنِ . رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
This report is transmitted from him. He says: Among the creation of Allah Almighty, no creation is more numerous than the angels. Allah Almighty created them like flies (in vast numbers), and then the Lord said: Become many thousands.
