Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 13373

Sabah bin Ashras narrates: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) was asked about the ebb and flow of the tide. He said: There is an angel appointed over the middle of the sea. When he puts his foot down, the tide rises, and when he lifts it, it recedes.
Ahmad recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator whom I do not know.
