Majma al-Zawaid 13354 — The permissibility of poetry and listening

Qatadah narrates: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) would sometimes recite a line of poetry relating to the events of the Age of Ignorance.
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except that the narrator Qatadah did not meet Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him).
