عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - سُئِلَ عَنِ التَّصْفِيرِ فَقَالَ : " لَيُّ الشِّدْقِ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ وَاصِلُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكٌ .
Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about whistling, and he said: "It is twisting the corners of the mouth."
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Wasil bin al-Sa'ib, and he is matruk (abandoned).
