Majma al-Zawaid 13115 — Whoever tests people will shun them

It is reported about Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) that he used to say: "Be slow in trusting people (that is, do not hasten)." Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) also used to say: "Test (people), and you will dislike them."
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains Abu Bakr bin Abi Maryam, who is da'if (weak).
