Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 13034

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not hurt the living on account of the dead."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its chain contains a narrator, Salih bin Nabhan, and he is da'if (weak).
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: A hadith will come containing the incident of the prohibition of reviling Abu Lahab, when his daughter complained to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that after she accepted Islam some people said about her: "This is the daughter of the enemy of Allah." So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not hurt our living by reviling our deceased."
