وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ - يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ - قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - :
" مَا مِنْ مُسْلِمَيْنِ إِلَّا وَبَيْنَهُمَا سِتْرٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ ، فَإِذَا قَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا لِصَاحِبِهِ كَلِمَةَ هَجْرٍ ، خَرَقَ سِتْرَ اللَّهِ " .
رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ بِزِيَادَةٍ وَسَتَأْتِي ، وَفِيهِ يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي زِيَادٍ وَهُوَ حَسَنُ الْحَدِيثِ وَفِيهِ ضَعْفٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Between every two Muslims there is a veil from Allah Almighty. When one of them speaks to his companion a word of cutting him off, that veil is torn."
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and al-Tabarani recorded it with an addition that will come later. Its chain contains Yazid bin Abi Ziyad, who is hasan al-hadith (fair in hadith), though there is weakness in him. The rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
