وَعَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ :
" إِنَّ مِنَ التَّوَاضُعِ الرِّضَا بِالدُّونِ مِنْ شَرَفِ الْمَجَالِسِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ أَيُّوبُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حَدْلَمٍ وَلَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ وَلَا وَالِدُهُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Talhah bin Ubayd (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Part of humility is to be content with a lesser place in a gathering rather than its place of honor."
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains Ayyub bin Sulayman bin Abdullah bin Hadlam, and I do not know him, nor his father. The rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
