Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 12863

It is reported from Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her). She narrates: Whenever the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) heard a bad name, he would change it. Once he passed by a village called Ufrah (that is, barren or desolate), and he named it Khudrah (that is, green and flourishing).
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
