Book of Manners
بَابُ . قَالَ : " لَا تُسَمِّهِ الْحُبَابَ ، فَإِنَّ الْحُبَابَ شَيْطَانٌ ، وَلَكِنْ هُوَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ " . فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ . وَقَدْ تَقَدَّمَ فِي النَّفَقَاتِ .
Chapter: He said: Do not name him al-Hubab, for al-Hubab is a devil; rather he is Abd al-Rahman; this has preceded in expenditures

وَعَنْ أَبِي زُهَيْرٍ الثَّقَفِيِّ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - :
" إِذَا سَمَّيْتُمْ فَعَبِّدُوا " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ أَبُو أُمَيَّةَ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ يَعْلَى وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ جِدًّا .

Sayyiduna Abu Zuhayr al-Thaqafi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you give names, give a name with 'Abd'."
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains Abu Umayyah Isma'il bin Ya'la, who is extremely da'if (weak).
