Majma al-Zawaid 12771 — Shaking hands, the greeting of peace

Sayyiduna Salman al-Farisi (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "When a Muslim meets his Muslim brother and takes his hand, the sins of both of them fall away just as the leaves of a dry tree fall on a day of strong wind, and they are both forgiven, even if their sins are like the foam of the sea."
Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except for Salim bin Ghaylan, and he is thiqah (trustworthy).
