Majma al-Zawaid 12763 — Shaking hands, the greeting of peace
عَنْ جُنْدُبٍ قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - إِذَا لَقِيَ أَصْحَابَهُ لَمْ يُصَافِحْهُمْ حَتَّى يُسَلِّمَ عَلَيْهِمْ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ مَنْ لَمْ أَعْرِفْهُمْ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ مَنْ لَمْ أَعْرِفْهُمْ .
Sayyiduna Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) met his Companions, he would not shake hands with them until he had first greeted them with salam.
