بَابٌ فِيمَنْ سَأَلَ وَلَمْ يُسَلِّمْ

وَعَنْ جَابِرٍ أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ :
" لَا تَأْذَنُوا لِمَنْ لَمْ يَبْدَأْ بِالسَّلَامِ " .
قُلْتُ : لَهُ حَدِيثٌ عِنْدَ التِّرْمِذِيِّ بِغَيْرِ هَذَا السِّيَاقِ .
رَوَاهُ أَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَفِيهِ : مَنْ لَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ .

قُلْتُ : لَهُ حَدِيثٌ عِنْدَ التِّرْمِذِيِّ بِغَيْرِ هَذَا السِّيَاقِ .

Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Do not give permission (to enter) to one who does not first greet with salam."
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Tirmidhi has recorded a hadith from this Companion, but not in this wording.
