وَعَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " شَرُّ النَّاسِ الضَّيِّقُ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ " . قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، وَكَيْفَ يَكُونُ ضَيِّقًا عَلَى أَهْلِهِ ؟ قَالَ : " الرَّجُلُ إِذَا دَخَلَ بَيْتَهُ خَشَعَتِ امْرَأَتُهُ ، وَهَرَبَ وَلَدُهُ وَفَرَّ ، فَإِذَا خَرَجَ ضَحِكَتِ امْرَأَتُهُ ، وَاسْتَأْنَسَ أَهْلُ بَيْتِهِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الصَّلْتِ وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكٌ .

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The worst of people is the one who is most harsh toward his family." The people said: "O Messenger of Allah! How is he harsh toward his family?" He said: "When the man enters his home, his wife becomes fearful of him, and his child runs away from him and flees; and when he goes out, his wife starts laughing and his household feel at ease."
