وَعَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " إِذَا أَتَاكُمْ كَرِيمُ قَوْمٍ فَأَكْرِمُوهُ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عُمَارَةَ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ ، وَقَالَ عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ : شَيْخٌ صَالِحٌ .

Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When the honoured one of a people comes to you, honour him."
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains al-Hasan bin Umarah, who is da'if (weak); Isa bin Yunus said: He is a righteous elder.
