It is narrated about Sayyiduna Abu al-Tufayl (may Allah be pleased with him) that he was asked: "Did you see the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)?" He replied: "Yes." He was asked: "Did you speak with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)?" He replied: "No, but I saw him going to such-and-such a place, and with him were Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) and some of his Companions, until he came to a spacious house. He said: 'Open this door.' The door was opened, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered, and I entered with him. There was a sheet lying in the middle of the house. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Lift this sheet.' The people lifted the sheet, and beneath it was a one-eyed boy, lying under that sheet. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'O boy, get up.' The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'O boy, do you bear witness that I am the Messenger of Allah?' The boy said: 'Do you bear witness that I am the Messenger of Allah?' The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said twice: 'Seek refuge with Allah from his evil.'"
Ahmad and al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains Mahdi bin Imran; al-Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "He is not corroborated in his hadith."
