Sayyiduna Safinah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a sermon to us and said: "Every prophet before me warned his nation about the Dajjal. He will be blind in the left eye, and over his right eye there will be a large piece of flesh. Between his two eyes will be written 'Kafir' (disbeliever). With him will be two valleys, one of them a paradise and the other a fire; his paradise will in reality be fire, and his fire will in reality be paradise. With him will be two angels from among the angels who will resemble two of the prophets, one of them on his right and the other on his left, and this will be a cause of trial for the people. He will say: 'Am I not your Lord? I give life and I give death.' One of the two angels will say: 'You are lying.' None of the people will be able to hear this; only the other angel will hear it. And he (i.e. the other angel) will say: 'You have spoken the truth.' But the people will hear the other angel's words, and they will think that he has confirmed the Dajjal, and this will be a trial. Then he will keep travelling until he comes to Madinah, but he will not be permitted to enter it, so he will say: 'This is the town of that man (the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him).' Then he will travel on and come to Syria, and there, at Aqabat Afiq, Allah Almighty will destroy him."
Ahmad and al-Tabarani recorded it, and these words are his; its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy), and some of its narrators have been criticised in a way that does no harm.
