Sayyiduna Salamah bin al-Akwa' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I was coming from al-Aqiq with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When we reached the mountain pass called Thaniyyat al-Hawd, which is at al-Aqiq, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) pointed with his blessed hand towards the east and said: "It is as if I am even now looking at the places of the enemy of Allah, the Dajjal. He will come until he camps at such-and-such a place, and the evil people will go out to him. At that time, on every road into Madinah there will be one or two angels guarding it. With the Dajjal will be two things having outward forms: one will have the outward form of Paradise and one the outward form of Hell. With the Dajjal will be devils who will take on the forms of the deceased, and they will say to a living person: 'Do you recognise me? I am your brother, or your father, or your relative. Have I not already died? This is our Lord, so follow him.' Then Allah Almighty will decree regarding that person whatever He wills. Then Allah Almighty will send a man from among the Muslims. He will silence the Dajjal and, rebuking him, will say: 'This is the great liar. O people, let him not deceive you, for he is the great liar and he speaks falsehood. Your Lord is not one-eyed.' The Dajjal will say: 'Will you follow me?' The man will refuse, so the Dajjal will split him into two halves. Then the Dajjal will say: 'Shall I bring him back to life before you?' Then Allah Almighty will bring that man back to life, and he will deny the Dajjal more strongly than before and rebuke him more strongly than before. Then the man will say: 'O people, the trial you have seen is a trial with which you have been tested; it is a fitnah in which you have been put. If he is truthful, then tell him to do this to me once again. Beware! He is the great liar.' Then the Dajjal will order him to be taken to the fire, which will in reality be Paradise. Then the Dajjal will go out towards Syria."
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains Musa bin Ubaydah al-Rabadhi, who is extremely da'if (weak).
