بَابٌ فِيمَا قَبْلَ الدَّجَّالِ وَمَنْ نَجَا مِنْهُ نَجَا .
What will come before the Dajjal, and whoever is saved from it is saved

وَعَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ : ذُكِرَ الدَّجَّالُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَقَالَ : " لَأَنَا لِفِتْنَةِ بَعْضِكُمْ أَخْوَفُ عِنْدِي مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الدَّجَّالِ ، وَلَنْ يَنْجُوَ أَحَدٌ مِمَّا قَبْلَهَا إِلَّا نَجَا مِنْهَا ، وَمَا صُنِعَتْ فِتْنَةٌ مُنْذُ كَانَتِ الدُّنْيَا صَغِيرَةً وَلَا كَبِيرَةً إِلَّا لِفِتْنَةِ الدَّجَّالِ " . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَالْبَزَّارُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Dajjal was mentioned in the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so he said: "I fear for you a trial more than the trial of the Dajjal: whoever is saved from that trial which comes before the Dajjal will be saved (from him); and since the world came into being, every trial that has been made, small or great, has been made only for the trial of the Dajjal."
