Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 12488

وَعَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ : قُلْتُ لِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ : إِنَّ الْمُخْتَارَ يَزْعُمُ أَنَّهُ يُوحَى إِلَيْهِ . قَالَ : صَدَقَ وَإِنَّ الشَّيَاطِينَ لَيُوحُونَ إِلَى أَوْلِيَائِهِمْ . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Abu Ishaq says: I said to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): "Al-Mukhtar claims that revelation comes down to him." He said: "He speaks the truth. (The Qur'an says:) 'Indeed, the devils inspire their allies.'"
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
