عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - أَنَّ جِبْرِيلَ - عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ - لَمَّا نَزَلَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَعَلَّمَهُ الْوُضُوءَ ، فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ مِنْ وُضُوئِهِ أَخَذَ حَفْنَةً مِنْ مَاءٍ ، فَرَشَّ بِهَا نَحْوَ الْفَرْجِ ، فَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَرُشُّ بَعْدَ وُضُوئِهِ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَفِيهِ رِشْدِينُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، وَثَّقَهُ هَيْثَمُ بْنُ خَارِجَةَ وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ فِي رِوَايَةٍ ، وَضَعَّفَهُ آخَرُونَ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَفِيهِ رِشْدِينُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، وَثَّقَهُ هَيْثَمُ بْنُ خَارِجَةَ وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ فِي رِوَايَةٍ ، وَضَعَّفَهُ آخَرُونَ .
Sayyiduna Usamah bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with them both) reports about the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Sayyiduna Jibril (peace be upon him) came to him (peace and blessings be upon him) and taught him ablution. When he finished his ablution, he took a handful of water and sprinkled it towards the private part. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) too used to sprinkle water after his ablution."
Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Rishdin bin Sa'd, whom Haytham bin Kharijah, and Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal according to one report, declared thiqah (trustworthy), while others declared him da'if (weak).
