وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " مِنِ اقْتِرَابِ السَّاعَةِ أَنْ تُرْفَعَ الْأَشْرَارُ ، وَيُوضَعَ الْأَخْيَارُ ، وَيُقَبَّحَ الْقَوْلُ ، وَيُحْبَسَنَّ الْعَمَلُ ، وَيُقْرَأُ فِي الْقَوْمِ الْمَثْنَاةُ " . قُلْتُ : وَمَا الْمَثْنَاةُ ؟ قَالَ : " مَا كُتِبَ سِوَى كِتَابِ اللَّهِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Among the signs of the nearness of the Hour is that the wicked will be elevated and the righteous will be brought low, vile speech will be uttered, deeds will be held back, and the mathnah will be read among the people. I asked: What is meant by the mathnah? He said: Whatever is written other than the Book of Allah."
