Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 12381

Sayyiduna Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I was sitting with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "A people will drive my Ummah before them, whose faces are broad, whose eyes are small, and whose faces are like shields. He said this three times, and said: Until you drive them to the Arabian Peninsula. As for the first ones, whoever of them flees will be saved; as for the second ones, some of them will be saved and some will perish; and as for the third ones, all of them who remain will be wiped out. The people said: O Messenger of Allah! Who will they be? He said: They will be the Turks. By the One in whose hand is my soul, they will certainly tie their horses to the pillars of the mosques of the Muslims. The narrator says: After this, Sayyiduna Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him) always kept two or three camels with him, along with travel provisions and water-skins; he kept these ready so that he could flee when the time to flee came, because he had heard from the tongue of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the trial that would come from the Turkish rulers. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say:
Abu Dawud recorded it in abridged form.
Ahmad and al-Bazzar recorded it in abridged form, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
