وَعَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَمِقِ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تَكُونُ فِتْنَةٌ يَكُونُ أَسْلَمُ النَّاسِ فِيهَا - أَوْ خَيْرُ النَّاسِ فِيهَا - الْجُنْدَ الْغَرْبِيُّ " ، قَالَ ابْنُ الْحَمِقِ : فَلِذَلِكَ قَدِمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ مِصْرَ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ عَمِيرَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ الذَّهَبِيُّ : لَا يُدْرَى مَنْ هُوَ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ عَمِيرَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ الذَّهَبِيُّ : لَا يُدْرَى مَنْ هُوَ .
Sayyiduna Amr bin al-Hamiq (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Soon there will be a tribulation; in it the safest of people (the narrator is unsure; perhaps the words are:) the best of people in it will be the western army." Sayyiduna Amr bin al-Hamiq (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "It is for this reason that I have come to you people in Egypt."
Al-Tabarani recorded this narration in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Amirah bin Abdullah, about whom al-Dhahabi said: It is not known who he is.
