Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) reports, as a marfu' hadith: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Let not a person whose hands are stained with blood please you, for in the presence of Allah Almighty there is for him a killer (an angel of punishment) who will not die. And let not a person who has earned wealth unlawfully please you, for if he spends from that wealth it will not be accepted from him; if he holds on to that wealth, no blessing will be placed for him in it; and if he dies and leaves that wealth behind, it will be his provision for the journey to Hell."
Al-Tabarani recorded this narration; its chain contains al-Nadr bin Humayd, who is matruk (abandoned).
