Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 12236

Khaythamah narrates: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) asked his wife: Is today better, or yesterday? She replied: I do not know. Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I know. Yesterday was better than today, and today is better than tomorrow, and it will continue like this until the Hour is established.
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih. Some athar (reports) from Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) have previously appeared in the Book of Zuhd.
